Iceland to Scotland

Oh no, I get why you are coming over to the Uk and Scotland in particular, it's just the Grimsby bit that defies logic. The clue is in bold, it's a dump.:D

I know I know! it does doesn't it?? But the bl..dy container vessel docks only in Immingham that is the ONLY reason we mention Grimsby:D

Can any Icelanders advise me on accommodation: I am in Iceland from June 17th to the 24th. I intend to travel the coast ring road starting at Seydisfjordur. I have reserved a room in Reykjavic for the 20/21st, should I also book accommodation in advance for the rest of the trip around the ring road or is it possible to get a cheap room without too much problem in June?
Thanks in advance for any pointers.

Always glad to help, even though I'm losing out some business......:blast

Check this link out, http://www.countryhotels.is/

This is a listing of Farm Hostels around the island, usually very cheap but with good standard.

Eldfjall!

Hi Olsari,

I've been watching this one since sunday morning when it made the early news here....!

It seems the Icelandic farmers may be getting the worst of it at the moment if the grass gets contaminated with flouride and sulphur.

I'd love to sit and watch it with a couple of cold beers though:beer:

On your return trip - after Edinburgh take the A68 instead of the A1. Much, much better ride and no dual carriageway. The border crossing is beautiful and the roads are fantastic. Probably a bit shorter distance as well.
Just watch out for speed cameras on the Scottish side.
