Hi All

My friend has the Icom F22sr…. I want to know if I buy a Kenwood TK3201 T2 will it work out the box ok….. or will I need to code them together?

How difficult is it to do?

Or am I best getting another Icom

Regards

If the Icom has been reprogrammed it will talk with any other brand or models of transceivers. So the Kenwood will work fine with it.

Thanks for the prompt reply :bounce1 I don’t know if its been reprogrammed for ANY but I can tell you we did get his working with my Motorola TA200 but the quality wasn’t that good hence me looking for a better radio………..but which one

Icom F22SR/F25SR or Kenwood TK3201

Yes they can talk to each other. A few years ago we had the same question, a few of us had the Icoms and my Brother had the Kenwood and we couldn't seem to get them in sync. Rang Autocom and a very helpful guy talked me through it. Once the radio's had 'found' each other they were clear as a bell.

Unfortunately I'm buggered if I can remember how it was done:blast

Are you using them through a Autocom or Starcom1 or without ie just the radios?

Thanks for all the replies so far… :) :)

Autocom kit 200 BTW we did get Motorola TA200 working with both Autocom systems but the quality wasn’t that good

Yes, they can be made to talk to each other, but you'll need to reprogramme one or the other or both.

It's not hard, but you'll need to RTFM!

We tend to sell more Kenwoods tbh, the Icoms are mainly sold for our rider training schools. there is not much performance or sound difference between the two brands.
