Hi All,

I'm just about to set up on my own in a business venture, and am currently deciding about a new vehicle. My GS has come into the equation, and I was wondering about value............

1100GS, V (2000 I think- I know, very late) 8000 ish miles. Full history, all MOTs, sargent seats, Migsel light bar with Hella micro DEs and spots, Silver 32L adventure tank, Hepco and Becker engine bars, Anakees (about 2500 miles ago) Givi screen, Adv panniers and rails, TT headlamp protector, Givi E52 Top box, backrest etc. Handlebar set bachs, lowered footrests (TT) and probably some othet bits that I've forgotten. Condition is as per mileage....and it runs brilliantly.

What's it worth?. I don't want to sell anything seperately at the moment, so please don't ask......................If the bike is sold, then the buyer will have the first option of everything and anything that's left will go on here.

The pic is an older one without the tank badges and various bits, but will give you an idea.

Ps sorry for posting in this section, but I couldn't decide which one would be most appropriate.

Cheers

Rob

Got to be £4995-£5100 max. Sound like a nice bike, especially as some prefer the 1100.

I agree, it's gotta be worth about £5k on a private sale. It's a nice looking bike with very low mileage but the limiting factor is the number of decent 1150's available for not a lot more. Many folks prefer the 1100 though, so you never know with the right buyer you may get more.

Value

Wise up.

Worth about £4-£4250.

Needs badges on the tank as it looks like it`s been fixed up.

Surely it`s a 99 registered in 2000 when the 1150 was out so it`ll be hard pushed against 1150`s of a similar age.

With all the extras, low milage, FSH and the extra quality of the last 1100 models, I'd pay £5k for it, and I'm a tight arse. I's buy this bike over a 1150 of same value. I've owned 2 1100 s 2 1150 s and a GSA.

No, it's not been 'fixed up'. It's had an adventure tank fitted, that didn't have any badges on it when I bought it......................................... and the picture was taken prior to finishing.

As a comparison, I've been offered £4800 from a dealer as a trade in for my year 2000 1150GS with 37,0000 miles on the clock and a very sorry looking fork brace. If I had £5000 and I was looking for a GS, I'd buy this 1100 over my own bike, no question!

You'll need to find the right buyer but they will be out there somewhere and will be willing to pay good money for a good bike with all the extras.

Bazza, just out of interest what kind of bike have you got and are you selling?
;)

Edit: Just checked www.biketrader.co.uk . There is a 1100GS 1998 with 18k asking £5750 from a dealer. There are others from about £4500 all older with more miles and limited extras.

Ask what you want - it's what it sells for that matters -

and the folks spending the money usually determine the final price -
.

value

fan the man,

I was just saying that that photo without tankbadges looked a bit apres repair and might put some off.( I know it wasnt damaged but in the same way some look at sports bikes with special paint jobs as havin been repaired).

okokok. it`s down to what someone will pay.
I`ve a 99 with pipe and chip,fsh,crashbars,1100s wheels etc and was told it was worth £3750-3950 in standard form so was guessin yours was this + a bit.

Usual form dealers will give a good price in tradein and sell bigger.

Everyone knows the 11 is the best.

Stool, do ya wanna buy it?

Good luck.

The insurance assessor valued my stock 1997 1100 with 47000 miles at £4100
