You can't pack it away every night......to fit it, you have to take the silver top plate off, loosen the speedo fittings, get Michel's mount behind the bezel then tighten it up again.
You may also have to undo the speedo drive from the back of the speedo unit.
FWIW though, I had an instrument panel front clamshell thingy that was a bit loose, so I put in some pop rivets to mount the two halves together....ZERO vibration after that.
I guess you could mount a ram ball where your paper clip is, but you'd have to make a large plate with several curves on it UNDER the binnacle cover, with a tang sticking out where you paperclip is....not worth it.
The other option is a Rugged roads thingy which goes from the 'screen mounts on either side and gives you a plate stretching right the way across above the silver binnacle cover.
For better or worse this is my dash now...I've subsequently hidden the stereo mini jack and I've routed the iPhone power the same route. More photos later in the week.
I'm running copilot Iive and its ok. It has a drag route option but it's not possible to route on the iPad and send that route to the iPhone....
