Is there a secret trick to removing the two rearmost bolts holding the rack onto the Adv? Mine are just going round and round...

In a fit of optimism, I decided to swap my Adv set up for the GS two piece. I read here it could be done in under an hour with the bike's toolkit......... bloody LIARS

If anyone has carried out the swap, can I hassle you for hints - there seems to be a scary number of bits in the box and I've not a clue where they'll all go.

Failing that - anyone want to buy a GS seat kit - everything you'll need to put the standard GS seat onto an Adv - except the brains and fingers to do it.

cheers all

maybe I should go back to my original signature of "righty tighty, lefty loosey"

If you look under the rear fender you'll see where they go
should be 2 square captive nuts.

remember to drop the fender by undoing the self tappers
should be less than an hour ;)

cheers Gauloises,

I saw the square "things" but couldn't actually manage to hold them securely enough to stop them rotating with the bolt.

Umm, fender ? self tappers........

it will NOT be less than an hour - do you know how long it took me to put in a pair of Malky's widetails?

how much do you want for your adventure bits when you successfully fit the new parts. Ill have them at right price

And if your still struggling, I could give you a hand. I believe yer Edinburghish way. Im just across the bridge.

Den

I'll let you know if I ever actually get round to doing the seat swap and will see if you're still interested in the Adv set up.

Thanks for the offer of help too - you never know, you might yet get roped in.

Could someone post a pic of a standard 1150 with the seat off,so I can see where the bits are all meant to go?

Ta

Mr Snog, nothing would give me greater pleasure than to mess
.....reading between the lines, id say that in order to get your adv bits
about with your rear end of an evening. Anything to help a fellow
he is willing to fit your new bits . a diabolical plan, typical of dennis
GSER in his hour of need. Im free most evenings.
