Silver and black MH registered GS filtering through fast moving traffic approaching the Jack Lynch tunnel with the rider stood up on the pegs. I watched this mobile organ donor weave through two lanes of fast moving traffic untill he got too far ahead to see anymore. Standing on the pegs may be ok offroad but not at 60 to 70 mph in traffic. If your a member here mate, your a tool.:augie

Well May one enquire of, Your credentials to judge this person?????????????

GS is a big stable bike not a puff of wind DRz or other lightweight trailie and you have good manouvrability even while standing! Lets face it he (or She) extended his (or her) vision by vanishing point by elevating himself?

Perhaps not as good on the brakes but definitely good wiggle mode!

You obviously don't know the guys credentials just as we don't know yours

Better not to Judge Till Ya know the facts!

Well i saw with my own eyes what i considered to be dangerous driving.
Maybe i didn't explain it properly. He was up on the pegs, switching lanes between fast moving - 60 to 70mph - heavy traffic.

I recall reading an article years ago in a m/c rag about crashing, or becoming un-seated as I prefer to say, and the general drift was that if a you realise you are going to crash it is better to stand up, seemingly less injuries.

Pleased to say I've yet to put the theory to the test :augie

There's also a view that if you're faced with an inevitable impact with another vehicle it can be better to jump off the bike altogether.

You are dead right.....

He should have been on the back wheel giving the other road users the finger!!
:hide

Maybe he wanted to have a clearer view of the road ahead in order to plan his reasonable progress through the traffic in a way that least interfered with the other road users?

Was I really doing 70?
70 did you say?? Yes I remember when I was 70... gosh that was a long time ago ... yesterday .. or the day before .. What was this thread about then?? Must have been a boring one - I fell asleep, where's my pipe wrench

Maybe there are no tunnels in Meath :blastand just wanted to have a look!!:aidan

I think that anyone riding a bike like a flute in traffic is doing all a bad turn, pushing up the pressure the cops put on the whole biking community.

YMMV.

pipe and slippers

This is the uk gser site , opinions such as should be consigned over to the pipe and slippers club . You obviously havent served your time on the roads of any of our major european cities . If you want to see filtering try Paris or Genoa .
