Hi

My 12GS has started idling fairly high - not all the time, and its when its fully warmed up. I can be riding along, come to some lights pull in and it'll sit at 2 - 2.5k. Now, to confuse matters, if i stick it in gear (clutch in obviously), it'll settle down to 1 - 1.2 or whatever the normal range is.

I've had a play with the cables and cant see any problems, and i cant see any leaks.

Any ideas? something silly?

cheers

jon

Sounds very much like an air leak on the induction side between a throttle body and the head. Did you check the clamps on the rubber link pipes? Any cracks in the link pipes themselves?

I had this last week on mine.

check both plug connectors on each cylinder (remove cover for main plug and the other plug is underneath cylinder)
check the throttle cable where it connects to the throttle bodies on both sides

with ignition off open and close throttle three times
(I also did this with ignition on so cant say which is best)

cured mine and bikes running better than ever

cheers
