Hi all,
2004, R1200GS with 55000KM on it. Was on a road trip to California from Canada and several times the bike would rev high and low on its own I would use the kill switch and restart the bike a couple of time then it would be ok and ever since its been idling rough , it looks like every time it did happened it was in the morning and cold. Had it checked in BMW dealer in Frezno they said my throttle actuators need to be reset or changed when I get home. then it did again in Washington, I went to BMW dealership in Seattle (fantastic guys they didnt even charge me for that) and they reset them nothing was at fault. I started the bike in front of the Tech and there we go again. Its going for a full inspection today. Any idea or did anyone experience that? I always use premium gas!
Thanks.

Generally when fuel injection engines rev like that it's an air leak it's an inlet manifold air leak. But other than that I can't help any further.

if its a cold engine thing then it could be the temp sensors, one for air and one for oil I believe, did the dealer look for any fault codes in the engine system?

A good friend who is also working at BMW dealer picked up the bike today to take it to the dealership for service and called me later to say it did happens when the bike is also warm, the bike is there for a big service and a full inspection I am hoping that they figure it out.
