Right chaps, at mum & dads and mums done the usual "I can't get on-line for some reason"

I've said "Stand back, I'll fix it!" put my superman cape on........................

.............and promptly failed

Every time I open IE 7 (ver 7.0.5730.13), I get a message bar saying "Internet Explorer is currently running with add-ons disabled."

Kinda annoying as it says click "home", then close IE and restart it and add-ons will be used..................

Only they're not - same message every time.

Tried "Tools" & "Manage Add-ons", but it's greyed out.

Done a windows update just in case, with no sucess.

Am I missing something simple?

I use Firefox, but it's easier keeping her pc box standard.

Ta muchly

Jon I haven't got a clue as to why that stops you getting on line, but if you click on 'Tools' at the top right corner of the explorer page you can 'Manage Add ons' it's about the 5th on the list.

Hope that helps:thumb2

:augie :D

She can get on-line, she just has to clikc to turn the message off, clock home etc EVERY time she opens IE............

Is it perhaps trying to launch a particular site when IE opens?

Something that perhaps requires add-ons enabled?

Something that perhaps it shouldn't be?

Found it :blast

Got hold of my IT mate

God knows how, but the short-cut (which didn't have this before) was set to open IE without any add-ons.

You can do it if you have issues :-Start/All Programs/Accessories/System Tools/Internet Explorer(No Add Ons)

I'll be having a word with Sis, (who uses the pc occasionally & prats around with it) sounds like she's deleted a shortcut and then found one and copied it without checking..................

Cheers anyway guys
