That'll be the VAT, you are always going to lose that the moment you ride away.
 
Take off the VAT from £14500 and you get £12340.

Deduct an amount for 1500 miles, about 6 months use for a typical bike, and it's worth about £11000:toungincheek:augie:D

Nah - that's complete rubbish if you don't mind me saying. VAT has very little to do with the price of 2nd hand bikes. Don't fall for it. There are plenty of reasons why a new bike loses value when it leaves the showroom but VAT aint one of them.
