Same situation as you mate, I took thr BMW insurance at the same quote you got. TBH I thought it was gonna be a little more than that. Brand named alarm instead of factory would have made it slightly cheaper though.

Watch out when it comes to renewal, my 1st year with a F650GS was about £158 with Bennetts at renewal quote was about £155 (with one year NCB) so went onto comparison web sites and found I could get insurance for about £105, spoke to Bennetts and was re-quoted at £108, stuck with Bennetts as it was easier than transferring for 3 quid, but if they try the same trick next time I'll move even if it only saves £0.01. For interest Carole Nash did not come close on price, but I did not want all the extras.

I was gobsmacked!

Found through Carole Nash insurance who couldn't have been more helpful.

...with no NCB, that seems very reasonable (especially considering the europe-wide breakdown cover)

Quick question sort of related to this!
I've had a 125 on a provisional licence for 13 months, now i have a full licence will the NCB carry over to the new Bike? I assume so but have always been told to assume nothing in this life!

If the insurance was taken out in your name, with you as the principle rider ...
I would expect a YES answer..... you have'nt had a claim have you?
