IF ITS NOT A DRAIN PLUG, WHAT IS IT?

Just looking at the thread about draining the g/box oil,

why is there a plug on the underside? NOT the g/box drain and what is it there for

suspect that the Rt Hon Steptoe knows the answer there....

It's another drain plug, but I don't know why it is there. Take a look at the picture from the inside of the case: http://www.advrider.com/forums/showpost.php?p=3683474&postcount=25

its got a small magnet on it to catch any teeth that may fall off the gears, or bearing balls. trouble is you cant remove the bloody thing cos the cats in the way.
