Posted this on an entirely unrelated thread and thought it also deserves to be posted in the South East section,

You must visit Hassan’s Moroccan fried fish in Golbourne road/Portabello area for lunch .

I can’t recommend his food highly enough, for freshness, taste and value,
For years It was £7 for everything. He’s recently put the price up to £10/£11 depending on what fish,
It gets very busy on a Friday afternoon as the local mosque is very close
There’s a free motorbike parking bay almost opposite on the corner of Bevington road.
I’m now going to get everyone’s taste buds going by posting a few pics, sorry.

Looks cheaper than the food here in Bangkok.

Prawns, calamari, salad, chips (rice is an option or you can have 50/50 ), bread, sauce, and a drink - £10
The tuna or Hake is superb but usually sells out early

Looks amazing 👍

Just checked it out cause I’ll be staying near GOSH in a few weeks. Only 5 miles away 👍👍

Looks good.

While you're there pop into Garcia's Spanish deli.

I wax also a regular in the Galicia Bar in Portabello road ( 30 seconds walk from Hasssns fish).
We were usually the only English in the bar.
Genuine Spanish cooking, at amazing prices.
Then that bastard Ed Sheeran bought it, closed it down and turned it into a dive bar.. very unsuccessfully

In fact we should do a gastronomy tour of the area, ending up in the Lisboa cafe/bakery where you can order type 2 by the plateful :D

The wife loves those tarts - I don't have a sweet tooth, so wasted on me.

And not forgetting the Golborne Deli, Hassan’s is almost outside their restaurant .,
Again heavy Spanish influence and very reasonably priced

And then there’s the famous Mikes cafe in Bleinham crescent, , that’s more than just a cafe..
I’ve know Mike for more than 40 years,, since 1976 😱 his son now runs the cafe

With Mike, the man himself

Must pop down this Sunday. Breakfast, then down to Garcia's for some Iberico ham, whole box chorizo (can't get decent ones where I live, buy the box, split and freeze), and top up with the lovely garlic olive oil.

I’m often in the area on a Sunday, a female friend lives in Ladbroke Crescent and if she’s in town on a Saturday night i sometimes stay over ………., cough cough :D
