If you don't have any interest or anything positive to say about the new GS........

Speaking as a 1200 owner, I'm glad the mantel has been passed to the WC section. I have to say though, most of what I have read is just piss taking and not jealousy so I would suggest people stop being so precious. It's the internet, get over it!

Members of this forum have spent their hard earned cash on a great new BMW and if you don't like what they have to say about it, don't read it.

I and many others are, and just lately, on this subject and a few others, some on this site are really pissing me off with their negative and down right offensive comments. So if your not interested in hearing "how excited" someone is about their new bike, or "how good the headlight is at night", don't bother reading it and don't bother ruining a thread by telling us all that your not interested, or it boring, or........whatever. Just don't click on the thread in the first bloody place. Your attempts at explaining your comments, as humour are not appreciated by most I'm sure?

This site is great, but a few are really letting it down

I got to see the New GS on Sunday and what a great looking well made bike it is. Everyone I have spoken to who's rode it has loved it and if I had the money to buy right now, I'd be joining the lucky ones riding theirs.

Chopper Reid has the answer my friend:D

The 'how many sleeps' is like a 5 year waiting for Christmas day, FFS you appear to be grown men, but act like a child

Sounds a bit like this

When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.

yet not like this

"I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.

Looks like he can have his new GS as he pleases and the kingdom of heaven. That would probably be 'The Long Way Up':rob

I saw the GS in the flesh for the second time last weekend. I think it is a really interesting pieceof design and there is an emerging aesthetic that can be seen across the development of the range. I think it is interesting how this aesthetic is being led by the user demand now, whereas in the past the design lead the user groups. The use of technology is imaginative and gives a fellting insight into the future. Items such as LED lighting are exciting indicators of future horizons. I think the machine is a very fine piece of equipment of which its new owners can be very proud. I hope this post has been both interesting and positive (it is my honest opinion).

If this site turns into one that continues to post like I just have. I'm leaving. The really intersting thing is about this place is the bollox talked and the arguments, interspaced with moments of genuine insight, humour, and technical brilliance. I disagree with a lot of stuff talked here and I spent months on crutches having followed the advice on another forum. Keep it up!

Its a shame they junked the three switch indicators. Ferkin press who ride a gazillion bikes every day but own nothing have a lot to answer for.

One of the biggest improvements is for the first time a bike manufacturer accepts that different people have different body sizes. Moving the seat 20mm and adjustable levers dont add up to much in my book. But the new WC has some measure of adjustability in the foot rests, seat, bars and levers which has to be good.

Had difficulty getting an oil filter out with limited clearance on the centre stand. Advice was to place a piece of timber under the stand to raise the bike. Seemed simple. Pulled, and pulled, and pulled, and pulled some more to get the bike on the newly elevated stand - then BANG. Was shot in the calf. My son who luckily was close by, stopped the bike falling on me and said I looked like a snarling shark flopping aroung on a pier. When the drugs kicked in and the pain went from an 11 to a 9.5 I realised I wasn't shot, but had ripped my calf muscle. Told my wife the pain was worse than child birth. Found a rather large bruise on my chest the next day :nenau

Two lessons learned:augie

1. Never make a comparison to childbirth pain under any circumstances.
2. Buy a ramp (horse, bolted - I know)

Now - THAT is a post. :D:D:D (I feel your pain).

I think the banter is fine, but should be kept to the pub...

Of course you're right but...

We dont have a new GS that often and taking the mick and jabbing at those that bite back is all part of the UKGSER forum launch process and rule number 12.3.4 (b) says:

During the 36 month period starting from the 1st official anouncment UKGSER's are allowed to post in the official section and with out due care for the emotions of delicate souls.

FYI... 12.3.4 (a) says Airhead owners are fair game anywhere anytime

Personally I think the new LC seems like an amazing bit of kit and a massive advancement but I'd not buy one because I'm not man enough to see through the banter and I'm afarid I might wet my bed :D

Sorry, I obviously missed the meeting where you got put in charge of who is allowed to say what in an open forum.

Be appreciated if you would circulate the minutes, otherwise how are we to know what you permit and what not?

I've bought a new lc and like to read all comments both good and bad. If comments on anything were all one sided it would become a little boring. ;)
