Mmmmmmm

Nuts, fella, you know I love you like only one man can love another man but be a tadge careful on this one mate :comfort please keep on doing an excellent job of moderating us lot as you do and supplying a huge input into the forum which most of us can`t (lack of time on my part) - I for one am very sincerely thankful for all your hard work :clap and the forum would certainly be not as lively without your `special inputs` :D

I totally see where you are coming from (sitting on the fence as I fantastically always do to ensure no offence is ever caused, we are all gods children:green gri) but please keep in mind that although some of us may post the `wrong stuff` generally we should be allowed to post it and then, of course, suffer any repercussions. Your job, as an excellent moderator, is to do just that - moderate our undeserving butts. But after we have expressed our opinions in the first place.

Naturally you will get my support whatever you do (life`s too short blah blah blah...........) but just think carefully mate :comfort I would not want you to fall foul of cries of censorship :thumb2

And anyway, love to Mrs Nuts, she will know what you mean :D

And ride safe :thumb2

I've stopped riding mine.

An AA van keeps following me home (he lives round the corner) and the other day nodded knowingly at me and shouted 'see you soon' (his kids go to my school) , then I came home and the van was already outside the house!!! How did he know my mirror had vibrated loose....lucky he was there (kids on a 'play date' )

Too much coincidence, I'm sure now that despite mine running fine bar the usual clunk something is about to happen.

It's like being in a Final Destination movie. Or worse, reading the WC forum.

Lol........

So my gsa is due in 4 weeks time, I take it that if it suffers from gearbox failure, overly harsh suspension, engine corrosion, cracking screens, various circlips dropping off , badly made seats etc etc I should happily except this as part of the £16,500 bmw experience.
I can understand such censorship if this forum was run by BMW Motorrad , so instead of treating each fault as an individual inconvenience certain members of the forum should accept that bmw are NOT perfect and that their quality control of late is slipping and seemingly quite badly.
Of course people will be upset with problems on what is an expensive toy so why should they not have the right to complain and perhaps if BMW actually listened to people on such forums these faults wold be ironed out before the bikes are launched.
I am just back from 3 weeks in Austria and Germany and every bmw owner I spoke to with newer gs/gsa and rt models were voicing the same concerns, plus two owners of new suzuki dlv1000 and dlv650 who were going to buy bmw but were put off by a perceived lack of build quality and quality control problems

Cheers Mark.:thumb

The :D smilie in the OP should have been the giveaway that this is a light hearted thread. Of course I wouldn't start deleting posts/ threads about genuine problems. Where would all the non owners have their fun, after all?:comfort :D

There does seem to be several daft errors by dealers that then triggers "the bike is a pile of shite" response from some.

It is a pile of shite, must be, I was following an old Corsa the other day when it's silencer fell off, must have been the GS's fault,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Now, we all know the latest GS is the best bike in the world ever ever ever, BUT before you you post anything in this section, you need to think about what you're posting.

If you have a problem with the bike, and it's easily fixed by the dealer, DON'T post about it here, moaning like a girl; PHONE YOUR DEALER AND GET IT SORTED. They will sort it. There is no need to bitch and whine on here. You are not teenage schoolgirls.:comfort

I understand that some people need to post their every thought on the internet, but this IS NOT the place to do it.

So, I repeat again, if you have a trivial issue with your bike, DO NOT post it in this section - I WILL DELETE IT, as it's getting silly now.:D

The power trip loses it's potency once you realise that power is an illusion.

BMW going to withdraw advertising?? Unless we stop being nasty about their bikes?

Each generation of bike owner takes the piss out the next from air head to oil head hex head now wet head its all part of the banter long may it be allowed to continue

Wipe the oil off and tighten the filler with the tool provided. Then re fit the looks yourself, it takes a few minutes. I fitted my own locks then I know it's been done right.

On another forum I'm a member of (not bike related) the moderation is quite strict, it suprises me in fact how liberal this site is sometimes. For example, some of the derogatory comments that are made towards others would not be tollerated and members would just be banned simple as that.

I can see where the mods are coming from, when however many hundreds of bikes roll of the production line with the same/similar defects a forum filling up with posts of a similar vein is not in the best interests of the forum at large and a degree of editorial diligence needs to be applied to keep the forum fit for purpose.

So while some may object to an increased level of moderation...in relative terms this is nothing just good content management.
