I haven't back peddled at all, you just didn't "get" the OP.

Maybe I should have made it more obvious for you.

Oh I see! It's me, I don't 'get it'. That'll be it then.

Getting back to the OP. Are not all problems dealer problems? They are who the customer has the contract with and not BMW. Does this then mean you will kick all negativity into the long grass?

Mental note - I must put more smilies in the original OP, and explain the humour/ sarcasm after every sentence, in future.:thumb:beerjug:

There are manufacturing problems for this section (bent frames:D/ gearbox issues etc), and dealer problems (putting too much oil in/ washing the bike with fairy liquid/ bolts not torqued up properly).

The latter are pub fodder, as they are not relevant to any particular bike, just dealer incompetence.:thumb

But, of course, dealers running out of cappuccino and fancy donuts is most definitely relevant to this section, as there will be uproar, and all LC owners need to know if their dealer is below par when it comes to snacks and refreshments.:D

Oh I see. The only thing I can surmise from the OP is that 'Nutty' has somehow been 'got at'. Has the top brass at Vines threatened your family Nutty? You must let us know. We could send a team of fat blokes into Vines everyday and eat all their complimentary biscuits and drink the lattes. Their profits will take a huge hit. We could keep this up until they retract the threats.

Personally when I am researching about the possibility of buying a motorcycle I want to see customers experiences, warts and all. I know that some are rubbish and can be taken with a pinch of salt. I can then compare this to other manufacturers forums to find out about possible problems. What I do not want is to have a censored version of what somebody deems is acceptable for me to see. If that is what I want I may as well just look at the manufacturers website to be told how absolutely wonderful their bikes are. A website that will have been written by a copywriter in an ad agency that wouldn't know the front end to the back of a bike.

You're reading far too much into this thread.

Post whatever you like about dealers, it makes no difference to me. Post it in the pub, and it will get even more exposure.:thumb

It's a fuck up thread Nutty.... and you know it.... as do we.... best delete it and put the whole sorry thing behind us.....

I have no need to bitch about dealers. I have only bought one bike from a dealer in 30 years.

I wouldn`t entirely agree with that fella, nor do I disagree with it either. Perhaps Nutz may have to give the issue some thought in the future due to the sensitivity of the censorship issue (and I am sure he will) which some of the posts have revealed. I, for one - and I am guilty of this, at times have posted things which I then thought was unnecessary (mebbe like this one?).

But IMHO the unexpected consequence of what Nutz did was to stimulate some opinions (which we are all free to express) which were IMHO quite valid about the whole idea of censorship. The fact that the thread `zoomed off at tangents` reflects the nature of the dynamics of any thread.

For me, the issue of censorship is a valid one to discuss openly on such a great forum and one which was interesting enough for me to put my glass of Malbec down and take notice.

So, even though I suspect you are right - perhaps the thread should be closed (thats Nutz decision and I`m happy with whatever he does in this case) but some worth did come from it.

Notes:

1. I have indeed won Olympic Gold for the `sitting on the fence` competition.
2. I am not sleeping with Nutz, he`s not my type coz he rides like a faggot :D
3. I talk even more bollocks when I`ve been drinking :bounce1

How about a compromise?

Why not have a dealer issues thread for any make or model where folkes are free to complain about dealers till their hearts are content....

I guess there are then two potential homes for this dealer bashing thread....
1). At the public accessible level which are viewable from a google search
2). Within the "restricted" section.

Its final home would do one of two things quash or feed the cynics....

There is already a section dedicated to Dealerships, just as there is for Travel (though this is rapidly turning into 'Where can I park in Leicester?' There are also sections for gloves, tyres, the bloody GPS (and how to use it) and, when all else has failed the pub and the rant section. Though many contributors fail to even understand the concept of 'Ranting' so I don't hold out much hope.

To keep it really simple: All bods need to do is think and occasionally use a bit of imagination, before they hit the keyboard. Two basic attributes that are often lacking in bikers.

Very true but then your asking Homer to get up off the sofa to fetch his beer, far better to have a mini-beer fridge next to the sofa then no need to wander off else where.

What about that specific technical section then?!!!:rob

Or at least re title some of the headings for the forums?

Ha ! People keep going on about this being a "technical" section. I cant see that ANYWHERE!!!! I think thats why a lot of dross is posted in here.... (espcially by non WC owners!)

It won't be as technical as the other sections, as the bike has only been out 18 months, and most people stick to the dealer network while the bike's under warranty.

Give it another 6 months or so, and people will start to work on their bikes more, and it'll be more technical in here.:thumb
