On a serious note, it is a well established fact, backed up by photographic evidence, that my F800GS, at 110,000 miles and five winters use, is as clean and as tidy as a new one ... with no corrosion

Now, the thing is...if old Nutty boy had realised that his new rules and regulations were not going down too well and just said "You know what guys, I may have misjudged the feeling on this one...we'll say no more about it" – That would have been all fine and dandy. No grovelling apology needed or anything like that. But oh no! He had to start with the insinuations that it is the people that were critical that were stupid. Well then, the bit gets placed firmly between the teeth I'm afraid. (Have a few smileys)

Good plan. We'll drop the smilies, and put a statement in brackets after every sentence, explaining whether the sentence was serious or not (I'm not going to do that, and this very sentence is a joke, but I'm not going to put a smilie, as someone may get the wrong end of the stick).

Ok, for the final time. The thread is not serious. It's is pulling the legs of the people that put dealer related problems that are not bike specific into the "technical"
section. Surely, my opening sentence of "Now, we all know the latest GS is the best bike in the world ever ever ever" should have been the giveaway, because it's obviously not the best bike in the world ever ever ever, it's rubbish!

See above. There are no new rules and regulations, and I'm not back peddling; the thread is light humoured, which has obviously been misunderstood (funnily enough, most people throwing their toys out don't even own the bike
). If I was that worried, I would have started deleting posts in this very thread, and would have closed it. But I'm not, and I haven't.In future, if I start a thread with a humorous theme, I will clearly state it in the subject field.
