Hang on Melch,if it's in brackets AND a smiley then it's light hearted and not meant.
So you do want him to throw a beer over you ?

I'm confused

Phew!:beerjug:

I shall look forward to that.:thumb I assume that'll be instead of the Aunt Sally?:D

Ok, for the final time. The thread is not serious. It's is pulling the legs of the people that put dealer related problems that are not bike specific into the "technical" section.

Surely, my opening sentence of "Now, we all know the latest GS is the best bike in the world ever ever ever" should have been the giveaway, because it's obviously not the best bike in the world ever ever ever, it's rubbish!:P Just to clarify, this IS tongue in cheek, the bike isn't rubbish, but it's not the best bike in the world; there's no such thing.:rob

See above. There are no new rules and regulations, and I'm not back peddling; the thread is light humoured, which has obviously been misunderstood (funnily enough, most people throwing their toys out don't even own the bike ). If I was that worried, I would have started deleting posts in this very thread, and would have closed it. But I'm not, and I haven't.

In future, if I start a thread with a humorous theme, I will clearly state it in the subject field.:thumb

But if you do that Nutty, it won't be funny at all!

The panniers are relevant to the bike as the ally touratech ones are unique to the GSA LC ( I accept that they can be fitted to the standard LC.
The locks on these things are indeed problematic it appears so what is wrong with posting in the WC section about this problem ??

To translate.this is just a lot of bored men talking bollocks..but it beats the telly anytime..very entertaining...carry on ..pleeeeese...not quite as good as football fans paying a fortune to watch a game but then spending the whole match staring, gesticulating and shouting obscenities at the opposing fans..but keep going n u won't be far off. Oooo by the way I am only joking and no smilies...

i hav borrowed this account so please slag me off as u seem to be all so good at it.. ( see football comment) and not the owner.

Do you dry it afterwards with one of those essential bike blow drier thingies ? ;)

FFS toddy, the bloody things are already liquid cooled, how the fuck can you dry that?...:D
and using hyped up bloody hair dryers to dry them, just makes the problem worse.

or am I ,missing something here?:rob

Third time lucky?

Nutty....you sound like a kid that used to live down our street when we where kids.

He had a leather football, which was a great football, but if you didn't let him score every other goal he used to take his ball home.

The GS WC is in many ways a great bike, but in many others it's seriously flawed.

I'm pleased that I owned one,but it would have to improve an awful lot for me to be tempted back.

Please feel free to delete this post if it doesn't meet the required level of adulation for the WC.

Steve

I dont post much on the internet, I use it as a reference tool when I have issues (Kids,Car,Bike,Phone,Wife, GPS ETC ) so when I have tried to have an issue fixed buy my local BMW dealer and they tell me that "nobody else has this issue!!!" (like I have never heard that line before) then I will start to research it.
If nothing is found I will post and ask other riders. I have been riding for over 35 years now so I think "Bitching like a teenager" as you put it is the last way I would like to portray myself. All I look for are Answers when a dealer takes 20K (Vienna Austria Fully Loaded GS) off you for a New bike and they try to feed you BS when you have a question they do not have an answer for, where do you go..?

As Steve says, feel free to censor this post if you feel I am Bitching and moaning.. the reason for this site is Bikers talking about Bikes.?? !!
We used to do it at the pub and over a beer (Before the internet) or if another rider with the same bike (or a bike you were interested in) was at the petrol station on the A1 we talked then and we talk now...

Well after reading this thread I don't know what side of the fence I'm on. Actually I done even know what's on either side of the fence.

I came on here cause I had a genuine problem with my GSA LC. After buying my bike and being reasonably happy with the experience I discover that there are two types of tyre fitted as OEM.
Of course I immediately raised this with my dealer as I wanted to be sure that my bike had come with the better type. Anyway he plied me with coffee and snacks and spent a lot of time going through a SWOT analysis on each of the tyre types but then really upset me by telling me his personnel preference was for the type not fitted to my bike. I am seriously considering demanding my money back as after six months lots of miles and a couple of services this issue has not been resolved.

To make matters worse after reading this thread I now need to check if my oil filter is tight, if my screen is wobbly and if my pannier locks are OK(I fitted these myself but I better just double check)

To cap it off I find there's a problem washing my bike with fairy liquid of which there is no mention in the rider manual ! ( News which for me is six months too late)

:):):):):):):)
