Hi, anybody had the good fortune to change the ignition cylinder on an 1150? Is there a quick way/cheat or is it drill out the security bolts and have it all out?
Top yoke off and drill out the securing screw anti tamper heads then unwind the remaining threaded studs.
You`ll still be needing to swap over the electrical contacts segment at the bottom unless you`ve a complete assembly to swapover.
We never liked posting how to remove the contact assembly on here and only ever did via PM but I think someone went and publicised it.
It`s easy done as long as you`re careful.
Cheers Tarka! I won't be doing it just yet, I just thought I'd check in case there was a simple shortcut (you never know!). Just gonna ride it for now.

Watch out when you reveal the pin at the base of the lock barrel. It's spring loaded and seeks out the darkest corner of your garage when its released.
OK, successfully removed barrel and fired spring loaded pin across garage. When the replacement pin turns up any quick tips for getting the new barrel plus pin back in?
