Ignition Coils

I have just ordered a set of ignition coil sticks from BMW.

Could someone please tell me if new coil sticks have been updated/improved and if so is there any way for me to identify them from the older ones?

Would I be correct in thinking the new ones have a Grey cap?

The reason I ask is I don’t want to have to replace them again after another 32k and if they have been updated I would like to buy the newer versions.

The new ones have a gray cap, not sure this means they are bullet proof and won't fail I'm afraid.

 

[Steptoe]

The old ones have a black end.
The newer ones have a grey end.
But the newer new ones have a black end.
Who knows where it all ends.

Ill just take what they give me and hope they are the newer new ones with black ends.
