Hi guys,

currently in the process of putting a new front end on my bike, and one thing still puzzles me:

how does the ignition lock attach to the lower yoke?

I've removed one bolt (about m8?), but on the opposite side there seems to be a steel pin with a domed head- it looks like a big rivett.

How does this come out? does the head need of this steel pin need drilling off? or can it be encouraged out with a selection of drifts/ chisels?

Many thanks,

Nathan

Its a bolt they put in and when tight the head snaps off. Youll struggle to drill it but may persuade it with a small chisel. Depends on wether it is lock tighted.:thumb

Thanks! The way forward should now be easy- drill it and use easy outs or a torqx bit.:thumb

Just use a centre punch and give it a sharp crack in the right direction on its edge, keep tapping it round until it loosens.

didn't even need to resort to this ^.

Just drilled the head off the bolt, removed the ignition and steering lock, then put the stud in the vice and screwed the yoke off it.

Simples :D
