What colour cable goes to which connector at the back of the ignition switch?
Have re-wired (soldered and heat-shrunk) the switch but unsure what goes where?

All seems to work correctly apart from when the key-switch is set to 'o' (centre position) - should this not be ignition without lights?

Thank you for any help.

Jonathan.

isnt that the parking light position. side light without ignition (it is on my gs &rt)

I thought that 'P' would be parking light (ignition off) & 'o' is ignition only?
I must have at least 1 wire mixed-up :toungincheek

The same as on my 88 100GS. But mine work :)

You not got a Clymer etc manual then?

I have the Haynes manual with the wiring diagram - shows all the wire colours to the ignition switch, but I am unsure what order they go onto the back of the switch. Anyone know the pin numbers (e.g. 30, etc according to the diagram) - or arrangement of cable colours left-to-right?

cheers,

J.

Glad to help, a picture is worth a thousand words :)

Since then I've added a clock which gets its power from the one unused pin. Always live.

I had exactly the same problem when putting my g/s back together. On my bike, the pin numbers corresponding to the Haynes wiring diagram were actually moulded very small next to each connection on the bottom of the switch. It was just a case of matching wire colours to pin numbers on the switch.
