If you haven't managed to get it back in yet, find a socket or box spanner the correct diameter and use that to 'press' the plastic bit back in with the aid of a small hammer.


















If that fails, use a bigger hammer

Oil Filler Plug

Mine did the same with a Motobins filler plug.

OK so you can put/push the ring back in but what's the solution to prevent it happening all the time?

It got to be such a pain that I reverted to the OE plug.

Took 5mins to sort, well 3 mins of swearing, 1 min to separate the 2 pieces and then push the black plastic thingy back in.

Like Malcomn says"what's the solution to prevent it happening all the time?"
