I'm about to get a new GS with ESA, My present bike is standard (no ESA), I have an Ilmberger Hugger which I'm going to remove, does anybody know if I can convert it for use on the new bike, from the ones I've seen on fleabay the only difference seems to be the cut out for the ESA unit on the shock unit, I'm thinking I can possibley cut it to fit instead of buying a new one, or are the mounting points different

What if you just ask Ilmberger. I modified my hugger slightly when I got it some years back and checked with them. They even sent me material to do the mod free of charge.
Very kind and helpful people.

The newer 1200 have a breather on the final drive that gets in the way of the standard illmberger hugger.
They do a modified one for 2010 onwards which has the metal near the rearmost mounting point trimmed back to clear the breather.:)
