I am 99% sure I am going to commit to an upgrade from my 09 reg F650gs to a 58 reg F800gs and I just wanted some of the guys with 800's views on the bike...

the 800 I have in mind has almost all of the touratech catalogue thrown in including:

Rear luggage rack
front and rear brake fluid guards (aluminium)
front radiator guard (aluminium)
pinion gear guard
frame guard
sump engine guard
studded long-distance foot pegs
brake lever extension
folding gear lever
front light protector
crash bars
touring screen

Plus
Scopion end can

and
metal mule pannier frames (which I may sell)

The bike has 3000 miles and is at the price I am happy with.
Just want the thoughs of the 800 boys... (and girls)

Cheers

Hi stop stop its good to ride the bike that you want :thumb2

So as a F650GStwin rider what do you personaly think your major gain will be to the 8? whats the 1% stopping you? Sounds like you have a good deal sorted a few accessories there to boot :D

Just do it :thumb

48,000 miles on mine and still smiling :)

I would just make sure all recall work has been attended to.With so few miles on the bike, some of the issues that affected early editions of this model may still be pending......Good choice, happy trails :aidan

Cheers guys and thanks for the all the advice.

I am taking out for a test ride on Sunday and hopefully signing on the dotted line after that.

I loved the 650, but that was my first big bike and as a fellow member pointed out when I first got the 650, that I may find myself getting bored after about 18 months, which I am, plus I think the 800 looks great.

Who knows, 18 months time, I could be ordering a R1200???

Any details I need to check with dealer before signing??

Cheers

Well, I've done it...
I collect the 800 bike this coming Tuesday. Took it out for a good 1.5 hours today around Southport, the weather was great and bike, well, lets just say I've still got a big smile on my face right now:roll. I can't wait to collect it and bring it home.:clap

I as posted in another thread, the bike has not got ABS but from what people have told me, it's slit down the middle 50/50 yes and no. Maybe I will get it added on at a later date if that is possible...

As soon as I pick it up, I will post a couple of photos up (if I know how).

I will also have a box full of original F800 parts that have been replaced with either metal mule of touratech, so I may sell some like the original exhaust, front suspension and screen, but i will put it all in the for sale area, so keep an eye open if you need anything.

Cheers

Press F11 key, this will maximize the screen/pdf/webby you are looking at.

Press Print-Screen button (PrtSc) , now press F11 to drop out of full screen mode.

Open Paint, press ctrl + V (paste screen grab).

Now save it with a name to desktop or your filing system.

Use this for uploading images bud, fairly straight forward. Use forum code once done, then kill the advertisement bit ;)

:beerjug: Its a great bike :D but waiting is a killer:thumb2 :D

As for the ABS you need to re check the split I count it 5 out 6 saying yes to ABS and the sixth saying you either want it or you dont :nenau

another option for posting pictures is to open one of the free accounts with someone like photobucket then its just click and paste and you have an online album :thumb2

Hey its TUESDAY 2moro :beerjug:

Dean photobucket drop the image after 2 months. All your previous images & other people that use it, empty error box. Nothing to see on many old threads..just saying

Hay it works...

So, this is my new bike. No longer a 650, but a fantastic smooth 800. I love it
