18 months ago, I sold my 1150GS.

While I loved the bike to bits, I got weary of constantly patching up the paint, changing little bearings etc etc,. It seemed that every time I put the bike o the stand to check it over, some new bit of paint had come off, and another little fiddly shaft drive suspension bearing had died.

So I decided to sell it, and wait until spring to get another bike (I had my eyes on a KTM adventure.

Time passed, and no good deals had come my way (and besides, I was actually really enjoying thrashing my little XR250 around the Gloucestershire lanes).

Then, I got offered a 2000 mile 2008 Honda VFR for £5300. I couldn't say no - so I snapped it up. Hey, it's sportier, and maybe more reliable than the GS - let's give it a go.

The bike was very competent. Smooth, great brakes, etc etc. Everything the GS wasn't. Which sadly also included FUN. The VFR just didn't have the wow factor that enthralled me so with my 2001 GS.

Also, riding the VFR was painful to my wrists (I had the GS for nearly 8 years). A visit to the doctor later - I was diagnosed with Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. 2 weeks later, I had had the operation - on both wrists - so no riding for a while!

I got it out of the garage last week, to see if my wrists were fixed. Much better, but the head down riding position is still painful - so I advertised it on Friday, sold it on Saturday for £5200, and I'm now looking for a nice GS.

It's good to be back.

I haven't even found my next bike yet - but it'll be a GS.

Question is ..... Which one!!!??!?!?!?!?
