Hello people, been a long ol time but to cut a long story short I am helping out on the Autocom Stand over the weekends. So if you need any help (if I can remember what I am doing) come over and see us :)

Hi Richard,

I'll be there on the second Saturday and will make a point of saying "Hello".

Regards,

John

Where were you last Tuesday ?

Visited the stand and asked about some interface leads for my Wintec A80 radios. They had the leads.....mistake made and never checked the boxes, one plug was the wrong one. Credit to Autocom now in process of replacing it. Is it me or are the leads thinner now you are part of Starcom...

I only worked the 1st wkend and the fri/sat sunday of the last weekend. As for the leads I dnt think so as from what I saw over the weekend the parts havent really changed.

But saying that the isolation blocks are proper small now on the GPS lead which I really like so fair play to them.

Just spotted this, sorry I missed you at the show. Stand was slightly smaller this year than previous, took a while to find:toungincheek got a new head set while I was there:thumb2
Question for you though. Got 2 bikes one fitted with ProAvi and other has active 7 smart. Can I use the Pro headset, with ambiant mike on the smart 7 or do I need 2 helmets/headsets.
Ta.

Ram man yeh it was good to get back in to it again and I hope I told everyone the right information as ive kinda been out of it for just under a year. As for how life is treating me well im on jobsites looking for working as much as I can so I guess this speaks many words....out of work again and its proper proper s:augiet

For the headsets it can be done with the Super Pro headset but the BGNS would need to be unplugged with a link plugged in which allows for the headset to work correctly. if you give Autocom a buzz they will sort you a link plug for a couple of pound i'd say

Is the link just that, a bridge shorting out where the BGNS plugs in? Or is it something more sophisticated? If the former couldn't Ted just add a switch mounted in the helmet skirt so he could easily swap from BGNS to non-BGNS headset mode, obviously some soldering would be required. Otherwise I can see him having to pull the lining out of his lid every time he swaps bikes.

Rich - good to see you about again.

Sounds like the autocom thing has gone pear shaped for you :(

You want to think about setting up your own bike comms site mate. Selling advice and bits and bobs. Take me for example - trying to find a way of putting an external Ariel onto a kenwood TK3201 connected to autocom. A one stop shop like you mate would be just the ticket.
