Hi all,
Currently in Marrakech, tommorow riding to Agadir.
Yesterday rode from Afourer (on the road shown as a yellow road on the Michelin map) up into the hills and down to Ouzoud cascade which are some spectacular falls. From there we continued on the narrow winding (white minor) road which after some time met up with a main (red) road namely the N8 and onward to our hotel. The white section of road was the best experience so far of our trip.
Now for my advice. I am on my GSA, my wife on her 883 Sportser low. There are a large variety of road bikes on this trip. Yesterday some were concerned about the state of the road and from Afourer to Marrakech so took the quick direct route via the N8. I was thinking of taking the route from Marrakech to Agadir via the. Tizi n Test but some of the ladies are worried about it. The alternative is the fast duel carriageway. I need to know is the route that goes via the Tizi n Test Tarmac all the way? How steep does it get? Just how tight do the hairpins get? (the ones yesterday from Ouzard falls were fine) How long will it take? I would like to do it but need to go with some of our group.some are on Rt's even one on an R1 ... I will check this post later for your advice, thanks again. Ian

A couple of years ago I did the same route with a group. Half the group went on the main road and our smaller group went across the pass. Boy, did the guys on the main road make the wrong decision  It's a beautiful road all the way and all tarmac, don't you dare go on the main road :thumb2
It's more than doable in a day and we probably took about two hours longer going across the pass than the guys on the main road but it was sooooooo worth it, as Timolgra says, no worries at all.
Here's some piccies of it on the way up from Marrakesh :bounce1

It's tarmac all the way, but a narrow road. So if you get behind a large truck you'll be there for a while. Just pull over and enjoy the view. :thumb2

If I could find it ...

... I'd post the pic of us on the top of the Tizi on Honda 90's  You'll be fine :thumb

Tiz n Test

Great road

Stop at top for Berber omelette

cheers

Thanks guys, we all did it, a couple were on Harley Sportsters an all!!!!
Had the Berber Omelette, saw the goats in the trees (but this tosser didn't climb in them!).
Excellent ride today, now at the Ibis Agadir.
Bit of bad news, some shit scoured (scratched one of the bike tanks badly last night whilst it was parked outside the Ibis Gare at Marrakech, even though we had paid the security guard to mind them!!!! Also whilst we were stood on the pavement outside this Ibis talking near the bikes, two lads on a moped mounted the pavement and ripped a necklace from one of our groups neck and sped off, she is devastated). So take my advice and avoid this hotel like the plague!!!!!!!!!
Tomorrow Essaouria.
Ian
