As per title, I'm looking for a R1200RT for a euro trip. I'm not bothered about it being super clean/ valeted , MOT'd or recently serviced etc as I will go through it before the trip and can collect with a van. If anyone has one stashed away they have been dreading the prospect of selling then drop me a PM. If it's the right bike for me I'll provide an easy straightforward sale.
I'm based in North Yorkshire but can travel for the right bike (I never seem to find what I'm looking for locally anyway!)

Is a nice one and not a million miles away...

It is nice bit it's a million miles away from what I'm looking for. I'm looking for an earlier 1200.

Have a look on Marketplace. Just look out for scammers i.e. if seems too good to be true, it probably is...

I think there might be one still for sale near me.

It’s an immaculate twin cam and a bit over £5k with full luggage and quality seat.

North of Worcester.

Thanks for the suggestions guys, Ideally I don't want to spend over £5k. I've got a knackered wrist and hand and want to to tick off a european trip while I can still do it but I don't want to lose a load of money on the bike for the sake of a couple of thousand miles.

Is that on FB Market place? I don't use facefuk which probably reduces my fishing pool a bit.

There’s a couple on FB marketplace below £3k with mid 20k miles. I can’t link to them though.

Ta, I'll snaffle my mates phone tonight and have a look. I missed a 2013 bike that was mid 20K miles for just under £3k which had been sat at the back of a garage for a couple of years and wanted servicing and testing. Right bike but a week too early. DOH!

I'm pretty sure Steve still has this one tucked up in his shed?

Not as far as I know, it’s at my local mot garage, they took it in PX, If I’d not got one already I’d snatch their hands off, it’s beautiful.

Pmd you

Thanks for the replies so far. I'm going to view a bike today which may tick the box.
Went to look at a bike at the weekend which was described as VGC with full luggage, 3 owners recent tyres and ready to tour. Got there and first thing I noticed was the calibrated speedo....... It didn't get any better. Guy claimed he had no idea It was an ex service bike as he was selling it on for a mate..... it was clean but the the loom was a mess and the ABS light stayed in, rear brake barely worked and the oil was blacker than a golliwog at midnight. Oh and the service history hasn't turned up. The last comment just after I had arrived. Fortunately it was local...... The joys of bargain hunting!

I've found a twin cam with 28K on that ticks all the box's so thanks for all the suggestions folks, box now ticked. Got it home and went for a 2 hour shakedown run and I'm rather taken with the old girl. It can be hustled along at a fair clip and is uber comfy. It's surprising how small it feels compared to a GS!

TC is definitely the way to go, Good Poke and Great stability on good tyres and decent suspension

Health to Ride and Enjoy
