Hello,

This may seem weird but I have been seeking high and low for a handlebar for my 115GS since early December without success!

I need the heated grips one.

Apparently no dealers in the UK have one :nenau

Is there anyone out there who can help or point me in the right direction please?

Thanks!

Motorworks have them listed.. both 'new' and perhaps second hand... though in the second hand section they simply say 'GS' and don't specify model.. worth a try though.

New.. even if out of stock, there is absolutely no reason they can't get one for you within a few days... like any part.

I would strongly doubt that the handlebar is different.. heated or none heated.... you simply add the heated grips to the standard 'bars'

Silly money. Try using R1150R bars instead.

Also try putting an advert in the wanted section of the forum. You may get a better response than in the technical section. :D

That nice Mr Steptoe replaced the bars from my 1150GSA with a set of 1150R bars and it worked quite well. I did however then move on to a posh set.

I have the original bars GS, heated grip, bars in the attic - still want them?

PM me and tell me where you are if you do and we'll see if we can work out a price.

(He was right about the Wanted bit too, I would have skimmed past this most times).

Curious as to why:nenau

They are slightly narrower and there's a little bit less of a rake on them so your wrists aren't at the uncomfortable angle that they can be with the original bars.

I'm wide across the shoulders so I found that while they solved the wrist ache I was suffering they were a little more uncomfortable for longer trips. So I ended up getting the more expensive Maguras which fixed both problems for me.

thanks!

thanks to all for your tips and replied....

i have tried motorworks and although they have them listed, they don't have them in stock.

it seems to be the case with all dealers.

after speakiing to bmw battersea this am, it seems bmw are having trouble manufacturing them :augie

once again thanks for all for your support

I have a vague recollection that the difference between the two types is the milled slots for the heated grips wiring which runs through the inside of the bars.
Didn't someone on here drill and mill the slots some years ago because he bought the wrong ones?
