I'm loving my 2018 1200GSA Triple Black

A few short weeks back, I was pretty sure I wanted a 1250, I would've liked it to be a Rallye for the colour-way. It had to be a GS or a factory lowered GSA.

I conducted a lot of forum and field research before committing to an Approved Used 1200 GSA, one of the last registered, with many bells and whistles.

She's perfect for me.

I've been riding her for around 8hrs each week since and I've made some inexpensive minor mods to make my own stamp.

It's been very wet and very muddy on the Dorset lanes but I take care to make sure she never goes to bed dirty.

I've set Dynamic Pro just how I like it and it's a lot of fun with a safety net to catch any mistakes.

I'm certainly looking forward to our adventures in the New Year.

whilst out getting my tank serviced today, I enjoyed looking at a young filly M-Thou, an XR Thou, a Thou RR and a 1300 GS but riding mine home made me remember how much I love the thing.

That and a w@nk trade-in value

Had a club ride this morning, very cold start, -3deg in microclimates but heated up very quickly to a stunning few hours ride.

I'm loving it but can't wait for spring to come, I'd like to think that these hours/miles are teaching me important lessons.

I've managed to clock up just over 1200 miles on the GS since November 25th.

We've had some cracking cold but sunny days, very wet and windy days, flooded, mulchy, muddy, shrapnel laden lanes, and this weekend a lovely warm, double-digit delight.

I'm starting to feel more much more connected to the bike, it's getting easier to juggle about the garage and I've been doing lots of slow speed handling and full lock take-offs. Nothing off road so far, except a rather deep gravel car park every time I take her out.

So far, I've enjoyed every mile and the learning I've gleaned that will make Spring and Summer an utter pleasure.

In the diary for April is a 400 mile South-West rally with a return dash taking in Lands End, 4 nights in Wales, and then from the South coast to the NC500 in May.

Having had GSAs since 2007, I love my 1200 Triple Black perhaps the most, and at the moment, 30k miles in, I can’t see a reason to change.

I had it Hilltopped just after I bought it and find it to be so much more responsive than factory condition.

Fabulous machine, I love it. Now that Lind are going I just need an independent to service it.

The lessons I have learnt is that unless it is double digits in C temp in am taking the car. Yes I know it is all about the right clothing etc. But I prefer warmer temps

Fair enough, I guess it depends how keen you are and as a novice I can't get enough of these opportunities for enjoyment and learning. I can only imagine how good dry roads and warm weather must feel.
