Thanks Easy:thumb2 Top tip........ I suppose Tourance is the master of all then....I am happy with the normal ones- just got carried away with the latest fad thing again.......:blast

Thanks again....have a digestive on me...:beer::D

Disposed of on last day of warranty. Replaced with new Varadero(don't start you lot.:augie....) with lots of extras & 24 month warranty and very bright headlightsfor less than the cost of a 12 month warrany extension, which it appears does not cover the steering lock!

Summary:
GOOD - the bike when it works
Park Lane / Battersea huuuuuge improvement over the years

BAD

BMW warranty. They listen - NOT
BMW scheme insurance three times as expensive as Honda.[/QUOTE]

Had a new Vara 3 yrs back for 2yrs, not a bad bike at all, forks pitted though, so did my mates and so did his mates. Seems they have a problem with forks pitting just where the seals run over the chromed upper stanchions....beware.

Have to top the engine oil up every now and again.........and it blew a bulb once, othe than that..............ferkin ace!!!!

That's shaby  only had to replace one headlight bulb with no oil replenishment needed between the 600 and 6000 mile service :spitfire

Blooming BMW, I bought the oil thinking it would be needed, can't they get anything right :spitfire :spitfire

I'm not happy with my GSA because.......

.........it's costing me a fortune................:blast

......in petrol because I love to ride it so much........:D

.......and all the bling..:o

I am not happy with my BMW 1200GSA because
I got it on Saturday 600 miles by Sunday, but not booked in for first service for another 2 weeks. :blast

Still never happy. Not enough bloody time to ride my fat pig, and the weather is sooo good lately. :blast

I don't own one, so I will have to hate someone else's - like the one that overtook my car this morning on the way to work.
He looked like he was enjoying himself, and that's not allowed.

I'm not happy 'cause I'm STILL waiting for it to arrive - whilst trying to think of how I can cope with the height of the beast. I want to keep the comfy normal seat. How can I get my legs to grow? I'm trying to find some Elton John type boots with Gortex lining - which is not only difficult - but embarrasing at my age! And you try finding some without sparkles on 'em!!! Oh yeah - I'm (secretly :augie) also buying bits for it and I havent even got it yet!!! It's not normal is it? :o

Very normal........not the boots bit though...

generally happy, but...

i'd really prefer a taller top gear, like the 1150 overdrive, for times when i'm rolling along watching for the police...

the lower gears are perfectly adequate, like on the road from letterkenny to ardra (county donegal) on friday past. Awesome!!

The seat is pretty crap, it blows headlight bulbs far too often, it had the EWS and timing cover problems, the engine is too coarse...

But overall it's great, i'm looking forward to adding to the 14000 miles so far.

Patrick.

I'm really unhappy becaudse mine doesnt arrive till friday and i've got all week to wait...............till then more PS3 ...:D

I'm Not Happy

I'm not happy with my R1200GS ADV because it spent 144 days in the shop within six months for two simple faults.....Low voltage arriving at the ABS modulator, and, later for a Cam Position Sensor fault. Doesn't anybody know how to fix anything even this simple anymore? Everyone was stumped from the local level all the way to and including Munich. In the end I had to find the technical solution and tell them how to fix it. A reasonable estimate for these 2 faults would been 14 working days tops including diagnosis, ordering parts not on hand, and repair. BTW, of course it happened on a major tour.:fiddle

I'm not happy because my 12ADV is nearly two years old and has never let me down. This means I won't take out the extended warranty and of course that means certain failure of the final drive.......

I need a lower first gear! It does a decent job off road, but would do a fantastic job if it had the lower first gear! Other than that, still have the same grin as when I bought new over a year ago!

Hmmm that's one of the things that is making me want to change my 1999 1150GS for a 2010 R1200GSA. I got so fed up with the too-high first gear that I fitted the FD from an 850GS, so that it has the same first gear as an R1150GSA with the low first gear gearbox.

Does your experience mean that first gear is still too high? Would you choose the R1200GSA with the Enduro 'box? What does that do to the cruising speed?

Richard
