...front cover removal so I can change my alt V-belt. Why so dang difficult to remove? :blast
Almost like it's hanging up on something...
Any and all hints to help make removal simpler are well appreiciated!!!:thumb

Ask a silly question

Two screws at the top and three screws at the bottom. ....then lift off. That is all it says in the Haynes manual. I would think a little GENTLE heat would help.

stop

if you cant get that v easy cover off my freind i would reconsider trying to change the belt yourself:confused:

Remove screws 1 & 2...............doesn't get much easier!!! :thumb2

I forgot to mention it's on an '07 1200GS ADV. Not enough room to move and slide downward n out.....

My old '05 1200GS was a piece of cake! 'prit nere' fell out when the bolts were removed...

you need to take the centre section of crash bar out before the belt cover can be removed on the GSA.

It is very tight to get the cover in and out , I was changing the springs and had to move the shock forward to get the cover on and off , I dont know if there is a way to get it off without moving the shock but it seems to be trapped at the top. 07 Adventure as well

I use a little application of force on mine. The cover is soft enough to give slightly as it comes down and outwards.

Well after a bit of snow and cold temps,I gave up and will return when temps become more bearable......
Thanks for the idea about loosening up the front shock, most definately in the way. Just never had such a difficult time removing the front cover on a GS before. Well this is an Adventure model...so possibly a different rake to the fork angle creating a PITA situatuion..

Oh...and most definately gonna '86 that spongie thing..!
