Would you

A: Keep the Harley and buy a tidy 1150GSA
B: Keep the Harley and buy a 2010/11 KTM 990 ADV R
C: Sell the Harley, combine the cash and buy as new a Road King as £9-10k gets......

I did like the GS JB, i wanted a GSA when I bought it, but at the time 6 years ago they were over my self imposed £5k limit...

Some mornings I wake up having decided GSA which will leave me two heavy old lumps in the garage... ( three when i'm in there) Next day it's KTM, the focused element Mr JAD refers to is what "floats my boat".. Lighter, quicker, great b road blaster....then I think it's an ugly fecker and the original GSA is still a work of art (IMO)

Good job budget will not be available till next spring.... It gives me all winter to fret about it....

Just remember the 1150GSA is still lighter than a 12GSA, so don't be fooled into thinking it's a heavy bike

Keeping the Harley if it's ok, is a plan...............it's eating no grass and will stand it's ground and you can find a good GSA for under £5k which will do the same

The 1150GSA is a supreme allrounder and as you say...................is easy on your eye

But try and locate a late 950 Katoom Adv and save £1500 they are sooo much nicer than the jerky 990s.

Only sold my 950 to fund the Harley.





Forget the GSA as you already have one lard arse in the garage. You are not a lard arse by the way... but a lanky streak of piss.

ive had 8 or 9 gsa s,and a ktm 950s adventure i allways go back to the gsa because there better i would look for a 950 carb version if you go down that route allso dont forget the bmw is much easier to service and much cheaper ,and no chain

It's the simplicity of the chain that attracts me....as well as hooning around slippery roads all year round...these days if touring I will take the Harley...always... I'm looking for a dirty whore of a bike to complement my cuddly wife of a Harley...

Whilst I prefer the looks of the GSA I can't help but feel that "I've done that", today I fancy something a little different... Like a skinny pox ridden slut giving you a dirty thirty down an ally

Very astute, had not seen that myself...

I really like my 1340 EVO and have some longer term plans for it... I guess buying a Road King is my least favourite option as I would have to sell a bike I want to keep.... So, option C is scrapped........

Now what about a Kawasaki ZXR 1000 D6 have you seen what £3,500 can get .....

Keep the Hardley and get a DRZ400 for the winter.........sell that in the spring when you've had your 'go down the back alley' and realised that that's not REALLY what you want to be doing at your age

You'll sell the DRZ for the same as you buy it now, if not a little more as spring beckons....then you can get a decent 1150GSA
