My RK is stock other than catless headers and while it ran well enough it was apparent the mapping is too lean for optimal performance and just for a smooth running engine. There are plenty of remedies out there I chose V&H's FP3, which is made for Harley's later Canbus bikes, and it arrived yesterday. After plugging it in, pairing it to my iPhone it copies and saves the stock tune to V&H's cloud I believe. Then it was just a matter of selecting the V&H map, in my case for a stock motorcycle (airbox, mufflers, etc,), press "download to bike" and it's done. Remove the FP and go for a ride. There was quite a noticeable improvement the engine running smoother and with much better throttle response. There are many other features I won't go into detail on but other maps can be downloaded if you make changes to the bike, there's an autotune feature that optimizes the map to your exact bike while you ride, 4 throttle settings similar to BMW's Road, Rain, Sport.
The FP3 lists for $399 but can be found for $300. http://fp3.vanceandhines.com/#fuelpakfp3

This sounds far to technical for a harley.

I have a little plastic pot with a selection of brass jets , all with little cute numbers on.
:P

Yes a few jets for $25 and one easy access carb :-(

Thanks for post, I have a 48 that's running weak at low revs, I've been considering the mod..

Your welcome. I believe FP3 works on 2014 and up XL's, FP for 2013 and prior. I don't know if they are marketed in the UK? If not there's a place here that sells the FP3 for $299, plus whatever mailing cost and duty.

Thanks but my Harley dealer has them available at £300 approx, I have a 2014 model 48 (1200cc) with Vance short shots, I've got a stage 1 air filter to fit sometime then I'll get the FP3 fitted by the dealer to keep the warranty.
Not that I've needed warranty as only did 995 miles from new on it & it's been away for winter.
