I'm currently using the standard starcom headphone/mic setup and wonder if there would be a benefit in changing to their 3.5mm jacked system. I have Bose in-ear phones which I love for listening to music and I guess I could use.
How good would the isolation be - I'm used to using ear plugs with the starcom

like yourself considering using different ear plugs, have the starcom advance, phoned starcom today, its another 30 quid for each unit, a few more wires to get used to.

i am going down this route only because of a way to use ear plugs and to have a clearer clarity of music.

my only problem previously was keepling the ear phones in whilst fitting the lid on.

I use Shure in-ear phones with my Autocom. They're a sound deadening type used by musicians to cut out background noise while monitoring the music at a more reasonable level. The clarity of music and comms is great at any speed, but you may need to turn your source volume way down or you'll blow your ear drums out.

As for keeping them in, I always wear a silk balaclava under my helmet and so it just slides over them no problem.
