Following my trip to the USA and Canada a couple of years ago, my bike's been sat in the garage, neglected and unridden.
Over the last 15 years i've slowly amassed a few bits and bobs for the 1150 and i've finally got round to putting most of them on.
I have to posthumously thank Chris Tunbridge for the tank, Desierto fairing and beak paintwork, which he did an absolute belter of a job on, including spraying the GS logos. I must also thank Mike Prince, again posthumously, for spraying my final drive and swingarm. There may be a few of you still here that remember Mike's bike, which he'd also changed to a black swinging arm. I really liked his bike and was glad he offered to spray my bits for me before he sadly passed.
I will also thank Dave McKelvey for selling his bike to me all those years ago. It's still riding really sweet Dave, and i'm sure you'll not recognise the old girl now!
I've tried to keep it all a bit subtle and it's no garage queen, but it is quite a nice example all the same. I was worried, when I bought the Desierto off fleabay many moons ago, that the wind flow might not suit, given the standard screens notoriety for turbulence - especially given the exhorbiant cost of the fairing. However, on my first ride today, it was absolutely fine.
