I usually go with these but NOT Tourance EXPs........grip wise I can't tell much of a difference but they will only last about 60% of the mileage of the older standard Tourances.

Heidenau k60 scouts

Just spent 2 weeks going around Europe (approx 2000 miles) on all sorts of roads/tracks wet/dry performed brilliantly.

They don't even look as though they've worn down at all.

Will you ever go any where near a dirt track??

If not, then put pure road rubber on .... :thumb2

What he said.

Just coming to the end of a set of PR3 on mine - impressed with them :)

Standard tourance for me. Tried the EXP's and they we crap. Had two replaced for reduced cost as the edges started to perish.
Haven't tried the conti attack though.:beerjug:

Pilot Road 3s

Two weeks into a lap of the Baltics and Scandanavia. I left with a new set of Michelin Pilot Road 3s, and have only praise so far. They are sure footed on a 2-up, fully loaded GSA including on the broken Tarmac and cobbles of Poland.

They supposed to excel in the wet, but thankfully haven't needed to test that yet, and I can't comment on longevity yet. As a pure road tyre though, I find them to be much more confidence-inspiring than Tourances EXPs.

Hope that helps to some degree...

For road use I ran Roadsmarts, great tyres with loads of grip in any conditions, wet or dry, hot or cold, ideal for Alpine Touring.

As long as you plan on nothing more off-road than a gravel track they work fine (took to a few unpaved roads on mine)

Roadsmart 2's should be available in GS sizes by now, as should Pilot Road 3's.

From what I have read in magazines and on the net the Dunlop is better in the dry, but the PR3 a shade better in the wet.

Both would far outperfrom any dual purpose tyre on tarmac and should last a bit longer too.
