A couple of years ago I had a set of Wilbers shocks for my 1200 GSA, lowered by 50 mm, supplied by Revs (then trading as Every Accessory. Earlier this week I enquired about the possibility of having the rear shock modified so it has adjustable preload. John at Revs confirmed that it was possible and had a hydraulic preloader shipped over from Germany. This morning I took the shock in and Nick fitted the preloader while I waited. The preloader effectively takes up some of the space occupied by the spring, but by changing the collar I was able to retain the existing spring (I'd assumed I would be paying for a new spring on top of the preloader). They even gave me a cup of tea!
Top after-sales service, from guys who care and who really know what they're doing - sadly all too rare these days.
Highly recommended.
By the way, the quality of the Wilbers kit is superb - BMW could learn a thing or two...
