Did a necessary family visit yesterday in a hurry ....... weather not too bad so took the GSA.

Southampton > Warminster > Glastonbury > Wells > Cheddar (through Mendips) Weston-Super Mare. Bike went fast, slow, up hill and dale, curvy hilly roads, long stretches and so on.

Return trip up M5 to Bristol in peak traffic > M4 East to London in crazy traffic > filtering through solid traffic part of the time > then back up to full motorway speeds > off at Newbury (Junction 13) then full leather down to Southampton in nasty crosswinds and dark grey skies.

Got off feeling absolutely fine and zipped up or should I say "aerated" (approx 350 miles with my side-route to Glastonbury via the Mendip back roads).

That's one heck of a bike for full on flexibility. Fun to the power of 10.

Footnote: Overtook a sodding high van just outside Longlet and gues swhat wa waiting on the other side..... yep.. your friendly Safety Camera van. Hopefully, he only saw me from the front at approach speed. And I'm normally Captain Slow. Bugger.

Did a similar journey to Bath from Brighton for an EnduroIndia gettogether last weekend ,felt unstoppable:D You Really see the benefit of these bikes when used as meant to be rather than just Get me to work:thumb

Good point; I'd agree with you totally on that one. It sure has long legs.

Using it for journeys of less than 30 - 40 miles at a time dosen't bring out enough of its true character.

The only downside is the continual drip-drip of problems being reported. I'm almost half-expecting something to go "pop", but enjoying it as much as possible anyway.

Compared to my GSA1150: different but just as much fun.... no... I'd say more fun. Fuel economy is pretty good too over distance.

stop reading the doom and gloom reports,I have and now enjoy each ride without waiting for the bang, most of the faults seem to be down to poor clueless tuning expecting the bike to sort its own fueling out or just cock handed owners with power washers shooting water deep into crevises and elec components:augie

It is easy to get sucked into the doomsday thinking.

I've covered over 22,000 miles on my GSA now, and the only 'problem' was the replacement under warranty of the EWS antenna. Other than that, nothing. The GSA has really grown on me. At first, I liked it mainly for its size, and its ability to accomodate mine (6'4"). Now, I'm getting more and more impressed by its overall riding qualities. I ride it to work and for fun on weekends, on tarmac and gravel.

Only downside: it requires a fresh rear tire (Tourance) every 6,000 miles.
