Now that I have your attention...........a question.

How many of you Guys use the "Buff" Neck Tube?

If you do, what do you think of it??

Is it worth the Dosh??

Any other comments??

CC ;)

Got one - use it always - worth the money ....not really but it was a prezzie anyway. It stops the collar of my jacket rubbing my neck and helmet strap on my chin, but that's about all - not much good at keeping out anything resembling cold.
...Make nice pirate hats, bandanas, blindfolds and headbands though :D

Cheers Gecko,

Have you any info on the Polar-Tec version?

CC

No sorry don't know them. When it's cold I have a wierd little fleece hat I picked up at a rally somewhere. It has a draw string on the top (where the bobble would be) . If you loosen off the drawstring it turns into a fleece tube which is then a neck warmer - great invention which keep the old vocal chords nice n' toasty :D

I got the other 1/2 half a Buff Polar-Tec version she likes it
keeps her mush warm oops face and neck i mean
infact im going to borrow it next time I have the normal one

shite ok for summer then still shite
like gecko said ok for Make nice pirate hats, bandanas, blindfolds and headbands thats about it

go for the Buff Polar-Tec version or I have seen the item gecko has in free sprit, climbing shops

Buff...

I use one & so does Gina...just the standard 'thin' one......keeps our draughts & keeps helmet strap from chafing......

Wish I had a couple more..................:D

I've also got a thickar Polartec one, but it's bulk stops freedom of movement around the neck......

Been wearing them for years, they last for ages, good to wear under your helmet (!) & excellent as a bandanna. Got a collection now, as they're 1/2 price in Andorra.
Haven't tried the Polar-tec, though.

Thin version in the summer/warmer months stops insects and other small flying objects getting down inside my m'cycle clothing whilst riding along while a cheap but thicker woolen version keeps me warm in the cold. On the coldest days I'll wear both with the thin buff pulled up over my head inside the helmet and the thick one round my neck so that draughts of cold air are not a problem and the cheap wolly stuff does not irritate the skin.

Buff:
I bought one 2 years ago: I wear it when it's not cold.
And I always pack it when I'm on holiday/weekendtour.
I like it!!

And I got 2 for my birthday last month:
1 thin normal, like my first one.
1 thick polyester microfibre, I think I'll start the spring wearing this.

( Is that an expression you use in UK: Start the spring...?)

Got one great - just the thin one. Fine in winter as it is just enough to keep the wind off - bet the polar one is good. I don't need as SE England is warmer. If I was in Elgin or some place I would get the polar.

Flies in summer - I guess - don't go that fast.

Dosh - dunno XMAS present.
Hey the pirates hat you can make out of it is great !

Yep. Wear mine all year round. It's the standard £9.99 thin one, but I find it plenty warm enough. Never felt the need to wear it as a pirate cap though.

I've bought a few of them over the last 5yrs or so and wear one every day commuting. I've never bothered with the polar-tec one, because the times I have ridden and it was very cold, I've just put two of the std ones together - one inside the other - and it worked great. Traps warm air in between and keeps out all the draughts whilst still being luverly and soft on me neck. Being thinner, they don't restrict movement like a thick one would.

I have a polar-tec fleece Buff and its great, wind proof, waterproof (to a point), and really warm. Too warm lately, will soon have to swap to a thinner one as spring moves closer. I have a Belstaff neck tube for spring/autum which is about right.

Fleecy Buff expensive but essential for winter, highly recommended

:)

neck gristle

yes i have enough neck gristle to keep warm, in fact bakerman could roast it up quite nicely.............but those buff polar neck thingies do exactly what they say on the crap bit of cardboard they come on. And you can wear them as a pirate hat or some shite.

Big Gordy...........drunk as an asssssssssssssssss

This winter I have mostly been using a thicker fleece type one. But it takes no small amount of fiddling to get comfortable enough for a prolonged ride.

Yesterday I parted with a tenner at Wessons for the regular thin version and wore it for the first time on the journey home. First impressions, plenty more room enables good head movement and despite its thinness was remarkably good at keeping my neck and face warm.

Not sure I'll succumb to wearing it as a Bandana unless I win the VTX1800 up for grabs in Wesson's raffle, otherwise I might start harbouring for a tassled leather jacket and big belt buckle :nono :D
