Have currently got a Streetguard 2 suit that have had for 5 years, done thousands of miles in it, been loads of different countries in it, soaked it several times, had the front zip replaced and re-proofed it several times, and have certainly had my use out of it. It is now starting to drop apart.

I am thinking new Streetguard 3, or perhaps a twat suit. Have seen the Rukka range on the German sites, but want to try on properly first and there aren't many dealers in NW England before I order. I'm quite stocky, but have got large legs- need a larger size bit end up with pants being too big in the waist and too long in the leg to cope with the size of my thighs.

Am thinking of touring the local BMW dealers to see what offers I can get on Streetguard and Rallye suits as its now winter and the new Streetguard 4 is coming out. Has anyone spotted any decent deals?? I have got cash burning a hole in my pocket as I fancy a new xmas present to myself, but don't want to get caught out if dealers start reducing things in January

When is best to buy these things from a dealer perspective??

Take a look at BMW Tourshell, nice kit and very versatile, very pleased with mine so far :thumby:

Ring round a few dealers and see if they have your size. See if you can put together a deal on close-out stock.

There is always Rukka - and I notice that J&S Accessories are reducing their IXS Toronto Pro-Shell jacket to £400. I'm unsure whether they do matching trousers.

Hope this helps,

John

I think my Streetguard 1 is about to bite the dust.....

If you're in Preston and you're interested in Rukka, then you should go see these blokes:

http://www.raceleathers.co.uk/

They're only in Darwin, and they've got pretty much the whole range, and offer a really good service.

I only know about them because my father in law lives in Leyland. Top blokes to deal with though, and they stock Halvarssons too.

Be interested in hearing your opinion on the Rukka gear in comparison to the Streetguard two - I've got the same jacket, and it'll need replacing before too long...

Finally got a new suit. Visited Allan Jefferies today with the view of getting something- tried the tourshell, liked the jacket but the collar came up too high and rubbed my neck, and with a helmet on would catch on the bottom of it which would really irritate me. They didn't have any streetguards in, so that left the tw*t suit and the GS dry.

I really liked the Rallye jacket, but it was really well built, a bit too bulky, plus I wasn't sure on the idea of the removable liner. Had one before where the jacket gets soaked but the liner clings to you and the jacket takes ages to dry. Tried the trousers on, there was no way they would fit properly. They were about 5 inches too long in the leg.

That left the GS dry suit- the jacket fitted great the same as the Rallye, but the trousers were a lot better. The difference in fit and leg length for supposedly the same size is like chalk and cheese. I was considering the dry trousers and Rallye jacket, bit I couldn't justify the extra £150 for a removable lining when there are plenty vents in the Dry suit.

Got a bit of discount too, so all in all I am very happy with my purchase. Whilst BMW isn't cheap, I trust it as I have had streetguard before and literally worn it out, so am hoping this will be the same. Just don't want to go out and get it dirty now.....
