Independant - Scotland ?

Hello,

I am soon to be living in the Inverness, Scotland area...

I know that there is a BMW Motorrad in Inverness, but as I am due a 12K service, might anybody be able to suggest a worthy independant dealer/mechanic who may be able to do the service schedule for me?

I've used Calterdon a few times over the years and found them to be most helpful. Bought both my GS's off them too. Others may well have a different view point.....

Your location does restrict you options a wee bit though...

for Calterdon. Bought my GS's and had all my services done there.

I wouldn't go past them.

I was just hoping to save some cash on the service, but as you say, when you're up that far the choices are limited

Don’t get me wrong, I have had good service at Calterdon, I have also been ignored, I gave them a 2nd and then a 3rd chance, after that, with me, there is no going back. Im not the only one, do a wee search on here, you’ll get a better idea. This thread was coming over a tad too one sided for me so I had my tuppenceworth.
It’s a pity, I would like to use a local dealer but unless I really need to, I wont be back.
I do hope, if you use them, you have a good experience.

Calterdon are ok, just ask to speak to the tech if you have a specific problem. The sales team are a waste of time tho. I live 20 mins from Calterdon and ended up buying my GSA from Central Motorrad. I just make a point of combining a service with a run down the road via Lecht and Glenshee. Just phone beforehand and they will usually fit you in.
