You know why England is so keen to keep Scotland.

Without Scots MPs England would have a Tory government for decades.

The sad thing about all of this is that most of the Nationalists want Scotland to have independance for the wrong reasons and not the right reasons. Half of England is fed up with London for the same reasons half (nearly half anyway) of Scots are fed up with England.......

Fettes College, although situated in Edinburgh, follows the English educations system, with its pupils working towards and sitting A Levels and aiming at English Universities.

Most boarding schools in Scotland follow the English system so they can go on easily to English Universities which is a pain as i've put my lad into Strathallan School and he wants to sit his Scottish Highers but nearly everyone is sitting A-Levels.. Hopefully he'll be going to a Scottish University as well as they are free

+1 Changing the economy to one which is service based and primarily located in the south east has fecked up the traditional manufacturing industries elsewhere in the country, not to mention agriculture and mining where we're paying to import goods we can produce ourselves.

The woes the Scots, Welsh and Northern Irish are suffering are no different to the English in Cornwall, West Midlands, Lancashire, Yorkshire and the North East etc.

I wonder why....is it because of percieved unfair treatment of the english (university fees, prescriptions, scots, welsh and irish MPs voting on matters that only effect england, or the seemingly top heavy number of scots MPs at Westminster)
Could it be the almost constant complaint of the nationalists who claim scotland is under the yoke of english oppression despite the number of scots who have served in top UK goverment jobs and the prevalence of scots during the building of the british empire.
