I have done a couple of searches but can't find anything, i wondered if anyone from the site had done one of those enfield himalayan tours ? or knew of something else similar. Any info/suggestions gratefully received

Global Enduro do one of the best and exciting trips out there at the moment. The trip to Leh is testing and awe inspiring . I've been as Medic 6 times and the new circuit this year was the best ever Check out www.endurohimalaya.com

Hi Robbo and thanks for getting back to me, when you said "testing" alarm bells went off, because i was hoping to take my wife.
She rides a serrow off road and a f650gs on, the big question is how testing ?

Like Robbo1200ADV I've done a number of trips with Global Enduro including Enduro Africa, Cambo Enduro and Enduro Himalaya twice - recently got back from helping out as a member of the Team on the Trip from Leh to Shimla via the Spiti Valley - take a look at the Blurb book that trip photographer Iain Crockart produced http://www.blurb.com/my/book/detail/2526661.
There were 4 ladies on the trip and several gents over 65, indeed one had his 67th birthday on the trip. If your wife can manage trail riding in the UK she'll be fine - the days are long and the roads are often rough but not technical and everyone helps anyone who struggles on the harder bits.
Global's support and backup are fantastic, there are two medics on bikes riding in amongst the clients, two or three mechanics on bikes, a leader, tail ender and two other Team along with a Rally control 4x4, an ambulance with a doctor, a mechanics truck and a baggage truck.
My next trip with them is in January to Southern India and then hopefully back to Cambodia later next year, very highly recommended.

Me too but not with a little voice behind me saying "why did you bring me here"
Anyway having just read your excellent trip report you have had your ration for a while so down boy down.
As Bob says ,if you can off road you'll both be fine. The Altitude can take a bit of getting used to but this is THE trip at the moment. I'm off to Cambodia next February, if you need to know more please let me know or try Steve in the Global office on 01225 333300
