A41 early this morning according to a 'friend'

not as unlikely as it sounds, 135 real plus 10% speedo error I suppose.

I guess I am getting old but I have never had my car or bike flat out, did see 130mph on the GS speedo on last straight at Nurburgring in Oct but thats about it:rob

I've seen that (or something around the mark) more than once with a strong tail wind in France.... 1200GSA, with panniers, screen up.

I have also seen 85 mph flat out against a very strong headwind on the Moroccan Dash II. It simply would not go any faster.

I think I would scare the beejeezus out of myself if I hit the rev limiter in 6th on my K12S!! I am sure some would love it - but not me!
Did about 140 on the autobahns last year and the cars were still flying up behind us!

Nope - happy cruising at 70 :augie

yes, its funny, in the old days I would have to see what it'll do but just cant be bothered nowadays.

Did take an R1 to 165 a while back but it didnt feel that fast, certainly not unsafe.

there are about 20 guys with sports bikes around my way and they all know how fast their bikes go.

One guy is like a samurai, as they have to draw blood if they get their sword out, so he has to max out his GSX/R1000 everytime he rides it.

Thats 200+ on the clock ffs !!

(and he's heading towards 60:eek::eek:)

117 (gps indicated) was the best I got out of my GS, fair do’s it did have quite a load on poor thing.

Got indicated 140 out of a Pan' once, felt rock solid

My K1200S hit an indicated 185-190 on, err, a long down hill straight and was still accelerating a bit - it was 168 according to my Garmin 2610. It came back from France in 2007 with 178 max showing on the Garmin :augie

My Caponord did a GPS verified 139 on the flat, which was 140 on the clock.

My GS has only done 60 miles, so haven't run it in yet, but I did buy it to slow me down and explore the backroads of the Dales more :D

My old Garmin Quest had 186mph as the 'maximum speed' tab for ages.

I genuinely have no idea how this came to be but somehow never got round to clearing it from the memory. :mmmm

just been reading the April Bike magazine.

its has a big test of 2010 GS (actually its a bit of a GS bumper edition) and on their dyno it actually has slightly less peak power than the 2009 model.

smoother and more mid range though and Simon Pavey gives it the thumbs up

but then he would I suppose:augie

Top speed is a bit irrelevant on a GS.

Maybe somebody will be checking the offroad capability of a Fireblade next?

Bit like this maybe??

Did 137mph (220kph) on a German Autobahn October 2008. Bit weird running into the revlimiter. Going flat out, and then suddenly the bike 'brakes'. It felt like something was wrong, a small 'wobble'. Soon realised what was happening, as the bike picked up speed again. Haven't driven it that hard since then, just wanted to know what speed it could reach.
