Right hand indicator doesn't want to cancel, only if i hold the cancel button in will it stop but start again when i let go. Anyone had any experience of this? Would it be mechanical or electrical?:nenau

Bike: 1150gs ADV 2003 ABS

Depends ...

... on which bike it is :nenau With an 850/1100/1150 it's likely to be mechanical; with a 1200 it's likely to be possessed by the spirits of the un-dead and needs melting down

One of the guys came round here with the same problem. It turned out to be the indicator push switch on the left hand bar. He had caught it on his tank bag and knocked the paddle out of it's snap in lugs. The switch felt ok but was not clearing the internal switch.

Or

The indicator unit is fecked

do a search on indicators or summat like that, [to much wodka to psot proper]

I did a repair to mine a couple of years ago and it cost around a pound for the new internal switch parts as oppsosed to £125 from the dealer

Had the same problem with my left hand indicator failing to cancel and indicating without pressing the switch.

Turned out to be the left hand indicator switch which was changed under warranty.

As above do a search on indicator switch and check out the alternative to the OEM overpriced switch.

Thanx for all your replies and as usual very helpful ones. Just gota find some time can't feck around with it now, off to Matlock. Oh, bike spec was added after:o
