Hi and a relative newbie so be kind. Apologies if this topic has been covered, but having only just changed a month ago, from an 1150 GS to a 1200GS LC, I've snapped 2 indicators just brushing past the bike🤬. I know it's me being clumsy, but surely this is a design fault!.
At over £45 a time, is there anything I can do to prevent this happening . Tia

Be more careful?

Only kidding, I’ve done one myself in the same way :nod

Had another one done in a car park but luckily it folded back and didn’t break, yes they’re delicate

Welcome to the forum by the way :thumb2

BMW led Indicator protectors , either Wunderlich or Chinese knock offs.

You are not being clumsy, they are like carrots , someone snapped one of mine on the ferry a few years back and dealers reckoned they would change at least one per week due to punters catching them in the showroom

I broke one of mine just shortly after getting the bike.

I just folded it back into position and it seemed to stay there but obviously it wiggled if you touched it.

I’d have replaced it eventually if I’d kept the bike.

I agree they’re pretty delicate tho.

I fitted Wunderlich protectors, a bit expensive but pleased with quality.

I've strengthened mine with black cable ties. They've been ok so far.

I do know how easy they break. I caught one with the pocket on my trousers when I was working in a dealership several years ago.

I didn't feel it and couldn't believe I'd done it until I saw the CCTV playback. :blast
