I'm not new (despite the low postings) ... I was on here until last year, went to the darkside and ran a R1100S Boxercup for a year, sold it and went back to my GS ... which I sensibly never sold! When I came back to the forum, my lack of activity meant I had to sign up again! 
I bought a Lennie's carbonfibre induct and fitted it last night. It's a bit of a squeeze but the end that fit's into the 'airbox' (with the airfilter) isn't quite the same size as the original BMW one). When everything is screwed down, there are still some gaps around the edges.
Is this going to affect how the bike runs? Obviously when the bike is running, the engine is sucking air in through the induct (you can feel it being 'sucked in' at standstill) ... and when moving, air will be PUSHED DOWN (and sucked in through) the induct. Are the small gaps going to mess anything up? Is the effect of the engine sucking air through the gaps going to negate the 'forced down the induct, air' trying to escape out of the gaps?
Or am I talking out of my backside? Again ...

... but now that I've run the bike with the induct installed, I'm thinking whether or not to keep it on! Seemed a bit 'breathless' to be honest. Maybe it was just me, but the engine seemed to be working harder than normal (K&N, Remus y-piece and cans) ... maybe adding the induct just tipped it over the edge?
