Im trying to get some info on life in 1959 or events in 1959. My parents are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary and to celebrate this they are having a bit of a get together and yours truely is going to make a bit of a speach

Im trying to get some details of what was going on that year especially in yorkshire and hopefully in leeds.

I tried googling but most of the sites I found were USA based sites with, you guessed it......USA events, etc.

Anyhelp or info would be gratefully accepted

i know these places are almost in the history books themselves but the
Library's archives have all sorts of clippings from leeds & around.

Hi mate,
the Do is on sunday, so i kinda missed the libraries, although I have a bit of a list of events already, i was just trying to get some last minute events for the list. My parents got married on Boxing Day.....BOXING DAY! Who gets married on Boxing Day????

Can only just get the car out of the street never mind risking the bike, the road has iced up and looks like it is here to stay for a long time
